June 2021 - Deliberative Dialogues, Part 2
At the June 22, 2021, meeting, the Learning Community heard from a panel discussing issues around engaging diverse and underserved communities. The panelists were:
Karen Calhoun, Community Engaged Research Program Officer, Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research (MICHR), University of Michigan
Charo Ledón, Co-Coordinator, Buenos Vecinos, Washtenaw County
Susan Woolford, Associate Professor in Pediatrics, Associate Professor in the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation, University of Michigan
We then heard from:
Meghan Spiroff, Community Network Research Specialist, MICHR, University of Michigan
Meghan told us about the Community Engagement Studio at MICHR and the services it provides to groups wishing to do community engagement work.
In the small group sessions, participants looked at a set of questions that could be asked of community leaders in Washtenaw and Livingston Counties. Participants were asked to consider, "What would you like to ask these community leaders about conducting an awareness campaign that would improve hands-only CPR?"
